a lot on the mind...

For some reason I woke up at 3:30am this morning with tons on my mind and couldn't get back to sleep. I've learned to utilize these kind of interruptions for awesome times of prayer over the years. This morning I really sensed God's presence in a great way as I prayed for my family. The silence in our house at that hour is haunting, but pleasant. I took all that stuff that was on mind to the Lord. He's so faithful to comfort and guide me through processing all this stuff. It amazes me how much we allow to store up and crowd our thoughts. It feels good prayerfully processing it all. It reminds me of that old song we use to sing when I was a little kid all the time, "He's got the whole world in his hands..." How soon we forget.

Dear Pastor Vaughn,
I had earlier started typing a response to you and the computer had technical difficulties. I hope this reaches you because I wanted to share with you how God has been working in my life ever since I came to New Heights and heard you speak as a pastor and teacher. I have expierenced on a number of occasions relating to what you speak on days prior to your sermon. I also have expierenced wakening at all hours of the night spending time with the Lord. I am thankful that the Lord has braught me to your church. You are a man of great wisdom and truth. I just wanted to write this to thank you and I also wanted to share with you that the day prior to your sermon I emailed you concerning rap music in the ministry and you have just confirmed to me that God put me in the right place and right time to be ministered by a man such as you and thank you and God bless you and your family and will continue my family and I to keep you all in prayer. God bless your family the church and your ministry. Butch
