Jesus never referred to things as larger than life, but he did make reference to the life of a genuine believer and follower as being "abundant." Abundance is a quantitative statement, a reference to an amount of life, more than the size of life. I do not personally believe that the quantity of life referenced in "Abundance" refers to longevity of age or materialism. So what does it refer to? The obvious answer seems to have to do with "fullness" of life, the full measure of all of life's components; such as happiness, joy, contentment, etc. When you look at it from this angle, many people are settling for much less life than God intended for them. The life that Jesus came to give us is not always the life we choose to live, therefore robbing ourselves. For me this has become a very important daily decision. Any given day I can choose a life less than abundant. But any given day I also can choose to live a life full of the fruit that comes from being in His steps. The abundance is the authentic outcome of His company that I choose daily to keep.

larger than life...
The other day a good friend referred to his love for Golf as "larger than life." What exactly does that mean? How large is "life" anyways? Is it measureable? If someone could measure the height, width and depth of life, wouldn't they be measuring it within the confines, or limitations, of life itself? I have a habit of thinking too deeply about stuff at times, but I am curious about the conception of such a statement. Who was the first person to refer to someone or something as "larger than life?" If anybody knows let me know.

getting ready for hoopfest...
My Daniel, along with other young one's across the city, are gearing up for the world's largest three-on-three basketball tournament held right hear in Spokane, WA. Today (Friday) is my day off and I'm planning to take Daniel and some of his buds down to the b-ball court and school them big time (just kidding, I'm not mean like that, well sometimes...) I love hanging out with the kids. They have all just grown up so fast. You have to steal them away every now and then from video games, texting and skateboarding in order to invest a moment or two that you know you will cherish for the rest of your life. Now if only the weather would cooperate, which can be a challenge here in the Northwest. Right now its overcast, windy and raining, not a very pretty sight. Ooops, gotta run, coffees calling...

organizing my life...
What happens when you can't seem to fit all your thoughts and needed info into the "week at a glance" format of your personal organizational tools? I have found that having personal organizational tools does not necessarily mean that you are a well organized person. Matter of fact, I find that many of these tools and the maintenance of such tools stirs up within me a sense of chaotic organization (if there is such a thing). Many of you have probably noticed that I haven't been able to blog lately. The best excuses I can come up with is that I've been too busy and a bit unorganized, both of which are not necessarily true. I've been very organized at trying to get organized. Throughout this interesting process of moving into a new office space, having my lap top stolen during the move, and trying to maintain a very full ministry schedule has made these past two weeks very interesting to say the least. I'm starting to feel more together though and each week is met with more optimism as I settle in to new surroundings and new lap top configurations. Boy, I make it sound like its been such a big mountain to peek. There are many people who have had to climb a much taller mountain these past couple of weeks. God is faithful to see us through each step of the way. Oh, an alarm just notified me on my smartphone that I have a meeting to head off to... organizational tools doing what they do best. Blessings...
